Functional Zones

A. Bedding Area

According to the usual height of quilts, this area is usually 400—500mm high and 900mm wide.  This space is mainly used to store quilts that are not used in seasons. Because it is inconvenient to take things, the upper end of the wardrobe is usually used as a bedding area, which is also conducive to moisture resistance.

B. Stacking Area

This area can be designed as an adjustable movable board layer, which is convenient to change height or change into other areas according to requirements. For example, after more clothes are hung, clothes hangers can be placed and changed into coat areas.  This area is mainly used for stacking sweaters, T-shirts, casual pants and other clothing.  It is best to arrange it in the area between waist and eyes, so that it is convenient to take.

C. Long Clothing Area

The long clothing area is mainly used for hanging long clothing such as windbreaker, down jacket, overcoat, dress and tuxedo. The width of the long clothing area can be designed according to the number of pieces of long clothing that you own. Usually, the width is 450mm enough for one person. If more people use it, multiple long clothing areas can be widened or designed appropriately. In addition, if the space is not particularly tight, it is recommended to choose a depth of 600mm, so that it is more comfortable to hang clothes.

D. Trousers Rack

Trousers rack is specially used for hanging trousers, which is not easy to wrinkle.  All trousers are hung in half, so the distance between the hanging rod and the bottom plate should not be less than 600mm, otherwise the trousers will drag on the bottom plate.  It is recommended to buy a wardrobe with anti-slip pants to prevent pants from falling;  However, general pants are easy to fall off.

E. Drawer Area

This area is mainly used for storing underwear or other small things. Generally, 3 or 4 drawers are designed under the jacket area. The height of drawers should not be lower than 150—200mm, otherwise clothes will be caught easily when the drawers are closed.

What size problems should we pay attention to when designing wardrobe?

A. The Whole Space Division

If you want to do the wardrobe to the end, pay attention to the division of upper cabinet, middle and base cabinet. If the base cabinet is made too high, the requirements for the door panel are very high, and the possibility of deformation will increase a lot after a long time!

B. Depth of Wardrobe

The most common one is 600mm deep, and the wardrobe is 530-620mm deep. With the door, the whole wardrobe is 600mm wide, so there is not much problem in putting clothes in this width.  The narrowest connecting door should not be less than 530mm, otherwise it will pinch the sleeves.  If you can only set a narrower wardrobe due to the limitation of room area, you can use a pull-out agricultural pole with several sizes, and the wardrobe can be as deep as 350 mm.
