Your kitchen counter is literally the workhorse of the kitchen. Even on the days you don’t do any cooking, you probably use your counter. It’s where you plop down the day’s mail. It’s where you stand while you’re waiting for the coffee to brew. It’s where you unpack groceries. And on the days you cook, well, then it’s getting splattered with ingredients gone astray, covered with crumbs, and more. The point? The counter takes a lot of abuse.

Today, let's introduce some tips for the maintenance of kitchen countertops.

Clean In Time

No matter whether it is artificial quartz stone, stainless steel or natural solid wood, there is always a slight defect in all kitchen countertops.

Stone countertops are often not so dense in texture. If soy sauce is sprinkled on them for a long time without treatment, they will bleed and become black and purple over time.  Stainless steel is prone to water damage, while solid wood is even more delicate. Color, heat and water are the enemy.

In this case, it is very important to get into the habit of cleaning in time.  No matter what color, heat mark or water stain, it is not a matter as long as it is wiped off in time.  Wipe as you use and keep the table dry is the first secret of maintenance.

Heat Insulation Is Important

Although relatively speaking, only stainless steel countertops are not heat-resistant, and a hot casserole will form an ugly circle of white marks on it, in fact, any material will be scalded over time.

Clever use of the heat insulation props in the kitchen, not directly placing the pan and bowl on the table top can help to prolong the service life of the table top.

Commonly used heat insulation paths are provided with pot mats, tripod pots, etc. Kitchens are always provided with some heat insulation pot bottoms, which can greatly relieve the occurrence of scalding marks.

Note The Splice

In addition to tai'm and acrylic which can be made into one piece (all performance lags behind artificial quartz stone), most kitchen countertops need to be spliced.

Between each table top also want to like when laying ceramic tiles, in order to avoid heat expansion and cold contraction caused by extrusion crack, need to leave a seam when installation.  If you don't pay attention to it at ordinary times, it is likely to cause damage at the gap, resulting in cracking of the table top.

Some countertop materials will have seam cracks. Never place toasters, coffee makers, kettles or other kitchen equipment directly at the seam because the heat they emit may damage the seam.

Careful Detergent

Most cleaning agents are corrosive to some extent, so it is better not to dump them directly on the table.  Should be mixed with water in a certain proportion, stick it on the cloth and wipe it cleanly.
