In the traditional design, there is no good plan for the laundry area in the home. Generally, the washing machine is placed directly in the bathroom or balcony, and a washing machine is the laundry area. In fact, laundry area planning can be combined with storage, drying and other functions to form a reasonable moving line design and multi-functional area.

Balcony bathroom laundry

Washing machine+sink+wall cabinet. This layout will be adopted by most families. A washstand is installed next to the washing machine and dryer, which is convenient for washing hands or some small clothes. The washed clothes can be put directly into the dryer. Add a row of wall cabinets or shelves above, and use the space on the wall to increase storage.

If there is no need for a washstand, we suggested that an integrated countertop can be built above the washing machine, which is very useful for storing things or as a space for temporarily placing things. However, it should be noted that the layout of washing machine+countertop is only suitable for drum washing machine, but not for clamshell washing machine.

Washing machine+housekeeping cabinet. Around the washing machine (or washing machine+dryer), a wall-filled closed cabinet is installed to place cleaning tools and washing products. The space is reasonably used to increase storage, and the design of the closed cabinet also keeps the appearance clean.

Laundry Room Cabinet Design

In a large-sized house, there is enough room at home to divide a laundry room separately, plan washing machines, dryers and storages, and put cleaning tools and washing tools in it. It is a laundry room and a housekeeping room.

Before planning, you should know the dimensions if you want to make a better layout. Generally, the sizes of drum washing machines and dryers are mostly within 600mm*600mm*850mm. If the washing machine and dryer are placed side by side, at least a width of about 1200mm-1210mm should be reserved. If it is stacked, the height is about 1800 mm.

It should be noted that when planning the laundry area, an extra 100mm should be reserved on the side and top of the washing machine, which can not only facilitate the movement of the washing machine, but also reduce the vibration generated by the washing machine during its operation, resulting in the abrasion of walls and cabinets.
