How to Decorate the Kitchen with Lighting?

There is not enough light in the kitchen. It is a good choice to install local lights under the hanging cabinet. Generally speaking, the kitchen worktop is designed to be close to the wall, but for aesthetic reasons or installation of hanging cabinets, when the cook stands on the worktop, it is often blocked between the main light source at the top of the kitchen and the worktop.

This means that the light that can only walk in a straight line will be partially blocked by the human body and cannot shine on the operating table in front of it, thus darkening the actual brightness of the operating table.

Sometimes there are lights directly above the console but the brightness is not enough, and local lights should be additionally installed on the wall of the console.

The kitchen hearth, sink and console all need brighter light sources than other areas of the kitchen. Therefore, when installing local lights, it is recommended to install them according to the light brightness requirements of other areas, such as the kitchen hearth. If the range hood already has its own lighting, then it is generally not necessary to add local lights!

How to decorate the kitchen with lighting?

While the kitchen light source meets the requirements, it can actually enhance the aesthetic feeling of the kitchen. The current lighting, such as LED lighting, has many types of shapes and richer colors due to its different technological principles and traditional bulb tubes.

Let me recommend some common local lighting types.

External light board:

Similar LED lamp boards, energy-saving lamp boards, etc., have the advantages of self-contained housing, convenient installation and low cleaning difficulty. They are usually installed at the bottom of the hanging cabinet, and the cost is relatively low.

However, the style of this type of light board is relatively single and independent of the original decoration, which may destroy the overall decoration style of the original kitchen.

Bulbs:

Traditional incandescent lamps, up to now energy-saving LED bulbs, need additional lamp holders.  The advantage is that the appearance can be completely integrated with the kitchen decoration and the design is more sexy.  Moreover, it is not limited to the installation at the bottom of the hanging cabinet, but is also suitable to be directly installed from the suspended ceiling, and the installation method is more versatile.

Although the bulb itself is not expensive, it may be necessary to modify the hanging cabinet for the lamp holder or purchase additional lamp holders, which may cost a lot to install.

LED strip:

The more common use of this kind of light band is decoration, because LED itself has a variety of colors, so it can give play to the effect of highlighting the overall contour lines of the building at night.  When used in the kitchen, it can also be buried at the edge of the basement to highlight the outline of the kitchen.  Make the overall design more modern.

Of course, this kind of lamp tube, like the lamp board, is not suitable to be directly installed on the ceiling. Excessive distance will affect the actual lighting effect of the lamp tube.
