The kitchen is one of the most frequently used rooms in the home. For modern family, cooking is not just a place to store and prepare food, it is also a social place and sometimes even used as a home office. Details determine success or failure. Here are 5 common kitchen design mistakes summarized by REBON. If you're looking to renovate your kitchen, hope these can help you.
1. The Wrong Height
Including the height of the kitchen cabinet, the height of the electrical appliances, and the height of the console.
There is no uniform standard for cabinet height, and it should be customized according to the height of people who often use the kitchen. Built-in ovens, microwaves and coffee makers must not be placed too high or too low, ideally at waist level. The countertop of the cookhob can be slightly higher to prevent the cookhob heat damage other countertop over time.

2. Insufficient Light
If the kitchen only has one main light at the ceiling, it is prone to many dark corners where the light cannot reach. The kitchen needs lighting in several different areas: overhead lights aimed at the work area, lights in the drawers and lights above the dining table, such as placing light strips under the cabinets to supplement local lighting.

3. Insufficient Storage Space
To keep your kitchen tidy, make sure you have plenty of storage space to store utensils, dry goods and small appliances. It is recommended to design some shelves or open cabinets in addition to facilitate the storage of commonly used items.

4. Not Enough Electrical Outlets
With the increasing number of smart home appliances, there will be more and more appliances in the kitchen. Therefore, when renovating the kitchen, make sure to reserve enough sockets for the most basic kitchen appliances. Add some sockets to the base cabinet or island to increase the versatility of the space.

5. Island Location and Size
A kitchen island can be used to gain more storage space, seating, extra countertop space to prepare meals and even place appliances. But if it's too big, it might get in your way. The distance between the two sides should be at least 120cm, so that the drawers can be fully pulled out and there is enough space for passage.
